Check traceability

Overview

In Next Design, you can display the components of the model in a tree view and check the traceability across the models.

The traceability check between models is explained below in the following order.

1. Switch to the traceability confirmation screen
2. Confirm traceability between models
3. Check traceability for specific model components

1. Switch to traceability confirmation screen

To check the traceability, switch the screen to the trace page. On the trace page, you can arrange multiple models side by side to see the traceability between the models. The vertical display area where one model is displayed is called lane.

To switch to the trace page, follow the steps below from the ribbon.

1. Click Traceability> Page> Trace on the ribbon.
2. To return to the editor page for model editing, click Traceability> Page> Editor on the ribbon.

2. Confirm traceability between models

To select the model to display in the lane, do the following:

1. Click the pull-down list at the top of the lane.
2. Click to display a model of the model in the project, and select the model to display the model components in the lane. Now expand the tree and select the next model.
   • Model: [Modeling sample]> [Requirement model]> [Use case model]

To add a model to the trace page, do the following:

1. Click the menu button at the top right of each lane.
2. Execute the [Add Lane] command from the menu and select the model to be displayed in the lane. Here, the following models are arranged in order from the left lane.
   • Use case model
   • Component structure model
3. Line up the models by adding lanes and you will see trace lines representing derived relationships between adjacent models.

3. Check traceability for specific model components

To check traceability for a particular component in your model, do the following:

1. Click the model component displayed on the lane.
2. Click to highlight related model components and relationship lines based on the derived relationship and the destination hierarchy for that component.
